The international conference Advanced Materials and Technologies (AMT2025) in Palanga, Lithuania.

From August 25–29, 2025, our colleagues from the @FeLow-D project, in collaboration with @Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), co-organized the international conference Advanced Materials and Technologies (AMT2025) in Palanga, Lithuania. The event brought together leading experts, researchers, and young scientists to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration in the field of advanced functional materials.

Representing SWEB, @Dr. Boris Polyakov, Head of the Additive Manufacturing Group at the ISSP UL Thin Film Laboratory, delivered a presentation on “Growth of 2D and 1D–2D Nanomaterials.” His lecture highlighted the latest SWEB research findings on synthesis methods for core–shell nanowires, including single-step and two-step approaches, use of protective Al₂O₃ interlayers, and the potential of 2D layered van der Waals materials for designing heterostructures with novel properties and enhanced functionality.

The conference proved to be a successful platform for strengthening international collaboration, boosting joint research efforts, and engaging young scientists in cutting-edge topics. It also promoted @ISSP UL as a hub of innovation and excellence in the field of nanomaterials and thin-film technologies.

Through such activities, SWEB contributes to the objectives of the European Research Area (ERA) by fostering excellence in research, enhancing scientific talent mobility, and building a collaborative and inclusive innovation ecosystem in Europe.
