On 30 September 2025 the SWEB project continued its tradition of engaging young minds in STEM. As part of our school outreach activities, Dr. Boris Polyakov, SWEB WP3 lead and head of the Additive Manufacturing group at the Institute of Solid State Physics UL, delivered a lecture at Bauska State Gymnasium.
Building on last year’s successful visits, the lecture introduced students to the fascinating world of smart windows and nanomaterials, highlighting how advanced materials research contributes to solving global challenges such as energy efficiency and sustainability. The session showed that science is both innovative and practical, as well as an exciting career path for the next generation.
These school visits are part of the SWEB project’s broader mission to foster excellence in research, strengthen the European Research Area (ERA), and build long-term bridges between academia, industry, and society. By sparking curiosity among students today, we are shaping the innovators of tomorrow.
